The Silver Ring Choir of Bath is one of the leading mixed-voice concert choirs in the UK. You will find all you need to know about us on this site - if not, just contact the Choir through the link in the left hand column. The Choir's connection with jazz star Jamie Cullum, has resulted in huge publicity and set the pattern for concerts with other celebrity stars.
These include Aled Jones who was the guest on July 21 last year, Clare Teal, Katherine Jenkins, Jamie and top choirs such as The London Welsh and Treorchy Male Choir, Grimethorpe and Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band. Our picture above was taken last December and shows the Choir on stage.Hayley Westenra ( pictured below ) was guest at the 2007 Christmas concert, another 1700 full-house in the Bath Forum. The Bath Chronicle - our local weekly newspaper - sent a staff reporter to review the show. He called it " A sensational evening..."
Canada tour – this year
To Calgary, Penticton, Vancouver and
Victoria
The Silver Ring is certainly one of the best-travelled choirs in the United Kingdom. Europe has been visited on many occasions as well as America and Canada. In November 2005 the Choir had a wonderful three-week concert tour of New Zealand, stopping off on the way to sing at a concert to a capacity audience at St Andrews Cathedral, Singapore.
April 2007 saw the Choir visiting Dublin for a long weekend and plans are now well advanced for a two week tour this Autumn to Canada from Thursday September 25th - Thursday October 8th .. The Choir will spend the first 3 days in Calgary where they sing at a concert on Saturday September 27th in Calgary. They then travel to Penticton, at the invitation of the Mayor of Penticton where they will visit numerous vineyards…and perform a concert to celebrate the Towns 100th Birthday!
From there the Choir (there will be 52 singers and 20 supporters) travel to Vancouver. They will sing with The Vancouver Male Choir of Saturday October 4th and lead the worship at Christ Church Cathedral the following morning. They then set out for Victoria to perform one concert at the end of the tour.

Singing with The Silver Ring
The Silver Ring Choir of Bath is always looking for good singers. Currently, the Choir has over 90 singing members.
Conductor, Grenville Jones is always keen to welcome new young singers to the Choir. You do not have to read music to belong to our Choir. A good singing voice that sits within your range is required plus the enthusiasm to support the Choir in all its musical activities.
Grenville also tries to encourage younger singers to develop their solo skills where possible.
Rehearsals take place on Mondays and Thursday from 7.45 to 9.45 p.m., at Manvers Street Baptist Church Hall, Bath (next to the Police Station). Members are asked to commit themselves to at least one rehearsal each week, although many attend (and enjoy) both evenings!
New Members have to audition and would-be members should know that all music has to be learned as no copies are used during a performance. However, Grenville always tries to set out well in advance the programme of items and the hard work in the rehearsal room bears fruit on the concert stage.
If you would like to know more about the Choir why not come along to a rehearsal? You can call our Conductor at his office on 01761-472468. Or email jonesgrenville@aol.com

Our picture was taken on Saturday July 21st last year. Popular TV presenter and singer Aled Jones was guest of the Silver Ring Choir and the City of Bath Male Choir for a 1600 audience, sell-out concert in the centre of Bath. Our Conductor Grenville Jones and Chairman Marian McNeir are pictured with Aled relaxing after the concert. It was a wonderful evening.
